Executive summary

Objective

The purposes of this research is Comparison of print quality between EPM and CMYK of digital offset Liquid Electrophotography (LEP).

Project detail

Process

First, Printing the TC 3.5 CMYK i1 profiler test chart and Test Form Altona Test Suite version 1.2 in EPM mode and CMYK mode with HP Indigo 12000 printer. After that, Measurement the print quality to the test form. Create a questionnaire to assessment the print quality from the specialist with EPM printing and CMYK printing. The research found that the EPM printing was to produce colors close to CMYK printing in Lightness. Printed with CMYK mode have wide color gamut in Shadows and printed with EPM mode have wide color gamut in Lightness.

Result

The result of questionnaire found that the CMYK printing have most selected from specialist because the images from CMYK printing have intensity, sharp and realistic. The images from EPM printing, Specialist select high key image, Wedding image, Fabric resolution image and Food image. Therefore, The EPM printing is suitable for printing images that have moir issues and high key image.
